GSTree: The Doors Alive- Hello I Love You: Jim Morrison Cover

Source: GSTree- The Doors Alive: cover band for Jim Morrison and The Doors-
Source: Action

The guy who plays Jim Morrison ( if you want to put it that way ) does an excellent job here. The Doors Alive is a cover band for Jim Morrison and The Doors. They go around America and perhaps outside of the country playing as Jim Morrison and The Doors. They are a cover band for Jim Morrison and The Doors. They go around playing music from The Doors that they did in the late 1960s. Hello I Love You is obviously one of the songs from The Doors. Along with Light My Fire and a whole host of songs that The Doors produced in just a 3-4 year time period in the late 1960s. When Jim Morrison was still a full member of the band.

The guy who plays Jim Morrison, ( again, if you want to call it that ) has the look of The Lizard King down. The skin-tight low-rise black leather jeans, the black leather cowboy boots, even though Morrison generally wore suede boots, and of course the concho belt. Even though Morrison once he went with a full beard in 1969 or so when he was just a complete alcoholic at that point, wasn't wearing the concho belt anymore with his beard and by late 1970 was no longer wearing his leather jeans black or brown. The Morrison cover here not only has a full beard, but with the black leathers and concho belt and is always performing and dressed like that.

I believe the guy who is the Morrison cover, not only has Morrison's look down, except for the full beard, but has Morrison's voice down and is someone I could definitely listen to perform live to hear him as Jim Morrison. And the rest of the band does a good job playing the The Doors music. If you're a Doors fan especially a Morrison fan, I think you would like this band and want to here them for yourself. The Morrison cover has the look and voice down and the rest of the band is very good as well.

Marmar: Jane Fonda- 1976 Interview

Source: Marmar- Hollywood Goddess Jane Fonda, in 1976-
Source: The New Democrat

You can't sum Jane Fonda up as a Hollywood actress or a left-wing ( to be kind ) political activist. She's both of those things. She's one of the best actresses of her generation at least and I would put her in the top of her generation with women like Elizabeth Taylor, Natalie Wood, and many others. But she's also one of the most famous political activists ever and one of those people from the New-Left ( socialist movement of the late 60s and 1970s ) who actually survived that period and went on to have a very successful life. Not ending up in prison doing long stretches because she attempted to rob a bank and give all that money to poor people or blow up a bank.

Source: Phil Roach- Hollywood Goddess Jane Fonda, in 1976
Things that The Weather Underground and Students For a Democratic Society, the Symbionese Liberation Army, did. She managed to stay away political criminal activity and instead just use her free speech rights to express her own political views and campaign for people who think like her and want the same things in society. And whatever you think of her politics and I'm not a fan of her Far-Left socialist politics, I believe in free speech that free speech applies to everyone including to radical on the Far-Left and radicals on the Far-Right. One of my core beliefs as a Liberal.

Source: Rolling Stone- Left-Wing political activist, Jane Fonda
That free speech isn't just for centrists who don't know what they believe, or Center-Right Conservatives or Center-Left Liberals. But when I think of Jane Fonda, I prefer to look at her as the great Hollywood actress that she's always been really since the late 1950s or early 1960s. And not as someone who has argued that America are the real murderers, the real evil empire. And that we're not just a racist, selfish society.

Marmar: Ava Gardner Documentary- From a Southern Belle To a Hollywood Goddess

Source: Marmar- Hollywood Goddess Ava Gardner-
Source: The New Democrat

The way I feel about Ava Gardner is similar to how I feel about Lauren Bacall. And I put both Ava and Lauren in the top class of both Hollywood actresses and Hollywood Goddesses of all-time and I'll explain what I mean about Hollywood Goddess later.

Source: Reporter At Large- Hollywood Goddess Ava Gardner
But there are actresses in Hollywood that become famous simply because they're famous. They've overly sexual and perhaps overly attractive as well and seem to need to be to be successful in life. Who are known for their personality and doing wild things, for using catch phrases that become famous and popular. Who fit imperfectly with the current pop culture scene and how people are acting and communicating. But aren't in Hollywood either on TV or in the movies because they're great actresses and highly intelligent. They get seen because of their appearance and their personality and become popular for those reasons.

Source: Philly Voice- Burt Lancaster & Ava Gardner, in The Killers
With agents, producers, directors, and executives, thinking we can make a stars of these women simply because they're popular, even though they can't remember their lines and struggle at just showing up for work. But directors in Hollywood thinking they're worth the extra work and trouble, because of their popularity and makes shows and films that are passable as far as material and the work, but are known for the lead actresses appearance and personality. Not because of the work that was put into the production or professionalism of it. Lindsay Lohan comes to mind and you can probably name other actresses and actors light that yourself from every era.

Source: Classic Movie Chat- Ava Gardner & Artie Shaw
And then there are Hollywood Goddesses. Gorgeous women, who can be both little girl adorable and highly sexual but without overdoing it, but the most important thing once and if you can get pass their Goddess appearance is they're great entertainers. They have great personalities, but they're great actresses and entertainers as well. And they're all very funny and interesting and are just women you want to hang out with and get to know, because you'll never have a boring time with them. You can't stop looking at them or wanting to talk to them. That is where both Lauren Bacall and Ava Gardner come in and fit into. Great looking women, but also great entertainers as well.

They're prettier actresses than Ava Gardner. They're even cuter actresses than Ava Gardner. And they're sexier actresses than Ava Gardner. They're might even be better actresses than Ava Gardner. Extremely short list on the last two points when you're talking about a women with both great comedic timing and a great comedic wit in Ava Gardner, as well as great dramatic appeal and affect as well as Ava Gardner.

But similar to Sophia Loren, you'll have a hell of a time finding an actress who is prettier, cuter, sexier, more entertaining, smarter, and more honest, and funnier than Ava Gardner. She wasn't a total package, she was the total package, at least of her generation. Sophia Loren is better looking, sexier and prettier, but Ava, Lauren Bacall, and Rita Hayworth, are the Hollywood Goddesses of their generation. Incredibly stunning and adorable women, who are all great actresses. And it's just a damn shame that we couldn't get another 10-15 years of the great Ava Gardner.

American International Pictures: Glory Stompers 1967- Outlaw Biker Film: Featuring Dennis Hopper, Sandra Bettin, Chis Noel & Jody McCrea

Source: Alchetron- Dennis Hopper & Sandra Bettin-
Source: Action

I'm a big fan of films from the 1960s and 1970s including b-movies or movies that seem like b-movies at the time ( like Glory Stompers ) and movies that become cult classics and cult favorites. Like Glory Stompers, because these are movies that take a lot of risks and chances. They take risks by using actors and actresses that people probably have never even seen before, let alone heard of. Dennis Hopper ( one of my favorite actors ) was not a rookie at this point, but he wasn't a star either. Easy Rider is the movie that gave him a name and made him a star.

Source: Rock Shop Pop- Sandra Bettin
What I talked about last week with Broken Badges is that movies and shows like this take a lot of chances. A lot of that having to do with the fact that they almost have too, because they're low budget and underfunded. So they have to work with people who don't have deep resumes, but they have to find people without the names who are talented and could become stars at some point. Glory Stompers has a lot of people who aren't names in it and never became names, but who play big roles.

Source: DVD Talk- Chino's Gang, featuring Dennis Hopper & Sandra Bettin
Like Chis Noel who plays the kidnap victim in the movie. Sandra Bettin who plays Chino's ( played by Dennis Hopper ) mamma in the movie. Jody McCrea plays Chris's ( played by Chris Noel ) boyfriend who naturally comes back and saves his girlfriend from this biker gang. The fact is Chris was never in any real danger in this movie. Other than by one guy who came close to committing sexual assault against her, before Chino of all people rescued her from that guy.

Source: Greasy Kulture- Dennis Hopper & Sandra Bettin
But then this movie has key players in it that did become stars later on. Dennis Hopper who I believe is one of the best actors of his generation at least. Robert Tessier who played tough guys generally bad guys on TV a lot of the 1970s and 1980s, but was also in Burt Reynold's The Longest Yard from 1974. Casey Kasem ( the famous disk jockey ) has a small role in the movie.

Source: Chop Cult- Chino's Gang, featuring Sandra Bettin & Dennis Hopper
The movie has a creative plot. It's basically about two rival biker gangs with one gang led by Chino, which is an outlaw gang who makes their money in narcotics trade and other illegal enterprises. And the other gang led by Darryl ( Chris's boyfriend ) that I guess are the good guys at least in this battle. Bikers who are basically just looking to have a good time. That go to a lot of parties, get drunk a lot, do a lot riding, but aren't criminals for the most part.

Source: Angel Morrow- Dennis Hopper & Sandra Bettin
Chino doesn't like Darryl and has his gang attack him when they find Darryl away from his gang and they attack him and think they killed him after they beat him up. Which is why they kidnapped Chris because they didn't want to leave any witnesses. If any of them knew anything about just basic CPR and paramedics, they would've seen that Darryl was beat up and unconscious but not dead. And wakes up shortly after Chino's gang takes off with Chris.

Source: Chop Cult- Dennis Hopper, kicking ass
As I mentioned before Chris was never in any real danger when she was being held by the Outlaws ( for lack of a better term ) other than that one guy who tried to sexually assault her, but she was rescued almost as soon as Magoo ( played by Robert Tessier ) tried to attack her. The Outlaws were simply looking to get out of dodge and haul ass down to Mexico to collect money from a score. And then release Chris in Mexico. There really isn't a dull scene in Glory Stompers, it does have some cheesy writing, which can come from having cheap writers. And is a very entertaining look at life in outlaw biker culture from the late 1960s.

CBS: Broken Badges- Featuring Miguel Ferrer & Eileen Davidson

Source: IOffer- The cast of Broken Badges, including Ernie Hudson, Charlotte Lewis, Eileen Davidson  & Miguel Ferrer-
Source: Action

This just in: Broken Badges, wasn't a very good show. Which might explain why it only lasted a little more than a month in late 1990. But it did have four great actors in it with Miguel Ferrer, Eileen Davidson, Charlotte Lewis and Ernie Hudson. Who've all had long successful acting careers in Hollywood.

Eileen Davidson being one of the top soap opera actresses/actors, ever really. With her roles on both The Young and The Restless on CBS where she currently works and also on NBC's Days of Our Lives.

Miguel Ferrer ( the son of Jose Ferrer, RIP the father and son ) had a long successful career mostly as a character actor doing a lot of action/comedy, as well as dramatic comedy. Crossing Jordan on NBC was his last major role.

Ernie Hudson, if you're familiar with the HBO tense drama about a maximum security prison OZ in the late 1990s and early 2000s, played the warden of that prison. He also did Ghostbusters, Law & Order and several other things.

Charlotte Lewis has mostly guest starred on TV shows and has been a character actress in several movies.

Just the whole premise of the show and series, if you want to call seven episodes a series explains why the show didn't even make it through a season. It's basically about four outsider cops, who've all has their issues with their police department and have struggled to follow the rules there and end up getting released or demoted from their positions. Who get discovered by a police detective sergeant ( played by Miguel Ferrer ) who is looking to put together a new undercover police unit. That sort of works in and outside of LAPD. One of the characters ( Toby Baker ) is a kleptomaniac. This show just doesn't make sense and is not believable. CBS after being the number one network in America for like forever, started going downhill and losing to both ABC and NBC in the ratings starting in the mid 1990s and Broken Badges might have been the start of that.

But it did have a good cast and some of the episodes are fairly entertaining. And besides, I can watch Eileen Davidson in basically anything, because she's hot and she's adorable, and funny. Miguel Ferrer should be in the character actor Hall of Fame ( if there is one ) with great comedic timing as well. Reminds me a little of Don Johnson from Miami Vice with his serious tough guy demeanor, but with a great ability to crack jokes about anything anywhere with a real wiseass streak. And he along with Eileen, are very good on this show that has a weak premise and some very cheesy writing and cheesy characters and some episodes that are fairly entertaining.
